Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
Welcome to exeye, a mobile application provided by Dominic Black (“we,” “us,” or “our”). exeye is an AI assistant that lets you set up “Smart Alerts” that watch for real-world or website changes and notify you when they happen, and recurring “Scheduled Summaries” that generate and deliver content to you on a schedule. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our app and related services (the “App”). If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
2. Information We Collect
• Account Information: To use the App you create an account with your email address and a password, which are handled by our authentication provider (Firebase Authentication). We also store the first and last name you provide at sign-up.
• Personalization Details: During optional onboarding you may tell us about your hobbies, career or field, and a free-text note about your interests and goals. We use this to generate suggested automation ideas. Onboarding can be skipped.
• Chat Content: The messages you send to the exeye assistant, and its replies, are stored so your conversations persist across sessions. Your messages are also sent to our AI provider to generate responses (see “How We Share Information”).
• Automations You Create: For each Smart Alert we store the title, the description of the change to watch for, an optional web page URL, and an optional timeframe. For each Scheduled Summary we store the instruction, an optional URL, the schedule and your time zone, and the history of generated runs. We store your time zone so scheduled tasks run at the right local time.
• Push Notification Tokens: If you opt in to notifications, we store a device push token (one per device) and a notifications on/off preference so we can deliver alert and summary notifications.
• Subscription & Credits Metadata: The App meters usage with a credit system. We store your plan (free or premium), credit balance, and credit-usage history. If you purchase a subscription or a credit top-up, we receive limited purchase validation data such as product ID and subscription status from our payments provider. We do not collect or store your full payment details.
3. How We Use Your Information
• Provide and Maintain the App: To run the assistant, create and evaluate your Smart Alerts, generate your Scheduled Summaries, and deliver the resulting notifications.
• Personalization: To suggest automations tailored to the interests you share during onboarding.
• Metering and Billing: To track credit usage, enforce plan limits, and keep your subscription and credit balance in sync.
• Improvements and Reliability: To operate, monitor, debug, and improve the App.
• Security: To detect and prevent misuse, fraud, or unauthorized access.
4. How We Share Information
We rely on the following third-party service providers to operate the App. Data is shared with them only to the extent needed to provide the service:
• Google Firebase: Provides authentication, database storage (Cloud Firestore), and our backend (Cloud Functions and task queues). Your account, chats, automations, and related data are stored here.
• DeepSeek: Powers the conversational assistant. The messages in your conversation are sent to DeepSeek to generate replies.
• Anthropic (Claude): Evaluates your Smart Alert conditions and generates your Scheduled Summary content, including performing live web searches when a task requires current information. The relevant alert or task details are sent to Anthropic to do this.
• Brave Search: Used to find a relevant image for some alerts and summaries. Only a short image search query is sent.
• Expo Push Service: Delivers push notifications to your device using your device push token.
• RevenueCat: Manages subscriptions and in-app purchases and validates them. Your account identifier and purchase status are shared to keep your plan and credits in sync.
• Apple App Store / Google Play: Process payments for subscriptions and credit top-ups. Payment details are handled by the store, not by us.
• Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide the App and comply with legal obligations. Chat history and generated run history are retained so you can revisit past conversations and results. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see “Contact Us”).
6. Data Security
Access to your data is restricted so that only you can read your own account, chats, alerts, and summaries; sensitive operations such as credit balances and subscription status are managed on the server. We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no system can guarantee absolute security.
7. Children’s Privacy
exeye is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries outside your country of residence, including by the service providers listed above. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards.
9. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. You may also disable push notifications at any time from within the App or via your device settings.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after updates indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
